Delta Dental Foundation provides $25,000 to Physicians CareConnection

Columbus, Ohio—A $25,000 check was the perfect way to celebrate 25 years for Physicians CareConnection.

During an appreciation dinner for its volunteers, Physicians CareConnection, a volunteer-based charitable organization providing dental care for Central Ohioans, was presented with a $25,000 grant from the Delta Dental Foundation.

“Physicians CareConnection takes great pleasure in thanking the Delta Dental Foundation for honoring us with a $25,000 grant award,” said Mary Mutegi, Program Coordinator for Physicians CareConnection. “This amount will go towards supporting our dental initiative that provides extractions, restorations, and denture services to those experiencing barriers to oral health care in the Central Ohio community.”

The grant will be used to pay for dental supplies, dentures and interpretative services for patients who otherwise may not have access to much needed dental care due to limitations like transportation, inaccessibility and unaffordability.

“We’re proud to provide funding to an organization that seamlessly coordinates care for its patients so that their pressing dental care needs are met,” said Teri Battaglieri, Executive Director of the Delta Dental Foundation. “The cost of visiting the hospital emergency room for non-emergency oral health issues is very high, and Physicians CareConnection is helping to get patients the care they need outside of the hospital setting .”

Since 2014, the Delta Dental Foundation has provided $83,000 in funding to Physicians CareConnection.
